The Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) and the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) have already launched the third licensing round for the remaining deep offshore blocks.

The Minister of Energy and Minerals Hon. Daniel Yona (MP) officially launched the 3rd Licensing Round for the seven (7) Deep water blocks 1,2,3,4,6,7,and 8 through a one-day seminar at Chelsea Village in London.

 On his opening speech, Hon. Minister confidently welcomed all serious oil and gas investors to Tanzania. He stressed on the prevailing political situation which is very stable, the growing economic opportunities from mining, tourism and infrastructure in the region, improved fiscal terms, and the need of exploring in the frontier areas like Tanzania. The seminar was co-hosted and sponsored by TPDC, Premier Oil, JEBCO and WesternGeco.
 

The event was conducted at Chelsea Village in London on Friday 26th November 2004 and was represented by distinguished delegates from the oil and gas industry.
